It has been 15 years since we first started repairing and replacing foundations in Brentwood CA. To date, we’ve successfully completed somewhere around 2700 foundation repairs in Northern California. If your foundation problem is causing you to lose sleep, you’re not alone. That’s why Bay Area Underpinning is committed to making sure your foundation repair or replacement is as stress-free as possible. You’ll know your home’s specific foundation problem, how we’re going to fix it, and why we’ve chosen a particular solution.

Foundation Leveling

Signs your home’s foundation may no longer be level can be subtle. You’ll start having trouble opening doors and windows, notice cracks in walls, and even sloped floors. We can lift and re-level the foundation using heavy duty steel push piers.

Helical Piers

Picture a giant corkscrew. That’s basically what a helical pier is. They’re perfect for construction projects requiring a deep foundation. They’re less expensive than concrete piers, and installation is fast and easy.

Drilled Concrete Piers

If you live in a home built on the side of a hill you may, at some point, experience foundation destabilization caused by soil erosion. This happens when the soil underneath your foundation eventually makes its way downhill. We can re-stabilize the foundation by drilling concrete piers deep down into the bedrock.

Polyurethane Foam Injection

Sunken concrete walkways, pool decks, and driveways are trip hazards. This is both a safety and a liability issue. Concrete slabs can settle and become uneven for a variety of reasons including invasive tree roots, problems with expansive soil, and drainage issues. We can lift and re-level sunken concrete slabs using a procedure known as slabjacking. This involves injecting polyurethane foam under the slab in order to lift it back up again. It’s less expensive than replacing the concrete, and you can use the slab again immediately after the repair is done.

Crawl Space Screw Jack Replacement

It sometimes happens that a building will show signs of foundation settlement even though there’s nothing wrong with the foundation. This is usually the case when either the screw jacks have deteriorated or the support posts in the crawl space have settled. We can easily fix this problem by using the existing pier locks and removing/replacing the screw jacks or posts.

Foundation Replacement

Believe it or not, there is some good news: Most foundations don’t need to be replaced. They can be repaired. However, there are times – unfortunately – when foundation repair is either impossible or simply not cost-effective. At Bay Area Underpinning we do both full and partial foundation replacements.
